| PHILIP BRIGANDI - Keystone Olympic Photographer |
| Description: |
Brigandi (1873-1945) was one of the world's busiest pre-WW2 stereo photographers. Although having a fiercely independent streak in all that he did, he occasionally worked for the Keystone View Company of Pennsylvania on a contractual basis.
At one time, Keystone President B.L. Singley tracked him down in California, and got him to do several important series of views for Keystone. However, he retained the rights to his own images, and was free by agreement to publish on his own label in California --- the 10th Olympiad of 1932 being one of them.
His difficult capture of Equestrian Gold Medalist BARON NISHI, and 14-year-old Swimming Prodigy and Gold Medalist KUSUO KITAMURA are the only 3-D views I have seen of these two. |
